What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a beautiful marriage between Eastern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western chiropractic medicine. These two modalities were combined by Dr George Goodheart in America in the 1960’s and the result is the profound and practical holistic therapy that we know today as Kinesiology.

Kinesiology is a natural, holistic therapy that looks at the whole person rather than focusing on individual systems within the body, contributing to a more powerful outcome. Philosophies embraced within kinesiology include chakras, meridians and acupoints from the East, and muscle monitoring from the West.

Holistic Kinesiology aims to improve your energetic wellbeing by tapping into your body’s inner wisdom and healing potential.

How does Kinesiology work?

Kinesiology is non-invasive and uses muscle monitoring as a form of biofeedback to identify where the energetic blocks are within your body.

As it is holistic, multiple factors are taken into account; including physical, biochemistry, emotional, electromagnetic and spiritual. The beauty of muscle monitoring is that it accesses subconscious information that you as a client may not even have been aware of on a conscious level.

Your body is a mirror of your inner thoughts and beliefs. The important thing to remember is to listen. Your symptoms, whether physical or emotional, are telling you something. We get so busy being busy – working, doing and so on that we don’t truly listen to what it is our bodies are trying to tell us. This is what makes Kinesiology such a powerful therapy as it looks beyond symptoms to find the root cause. When we clear causes of stress, that is when true growth and empowerment can occur.

It’s important to note that Kinesiology does not diagnose or treat symptoms. Rather, it addresses the underlying stress patterns associated with imbalances in your body

How does Kinesiology work?

Difference between an online session and an in-person session

There is no difference in outcome between an online session and an in-person session. The majority of my clients prefer the ease of being able to have their sessions in the comfort of their home or in a spare boardroom if they work in an office environment, saving them precious travelling time.

Everything is energy, including us, so we definitely don’t need to be sitting across from one another in the same room. Proximity and location truly do not have anything to do with the effectiveness and outcomes of your Kinesiology session.

How do sessions work online?

While I do deliver sessions in my clinic on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, most of my clients work with me online. Using muscle monitoring, a form of biofeedback, I surrogate for you – muscle testing myself on your behalf. We are able to do this as at the start of each session, with your permission, I set myself up as your surrogate.

Kinesiology taps into the stream of energy that connects all of us, which allows this process to occur even if we are not in the same country, let alone the same room.

What does a session look like?

I will always ask your body what the priority is that you need to be working on, as it’s infinitely wise. For example, you may assume that your issue is procrastination but when we ask your body it may show us that in fact beneath the procrastination is fear. When we work towards clearing the fear, often the procrastination will dissipate of its own accord. It really is quite beautiful, I like to think of it as energetic poetry.

I then ask your body what corrections you need in order to release the energetic blocks we identified and we do those in session.

At the end of the session I check whether you need any homework, or soul play as I like to call it, to continue the work we have done together between sessions.

Will Kinesiology fix everything in one session?

It is important to understand that your emotional mindset issues took time to develop, so they may take some time to release. The first session is just the beginning, the opening of what is to come. We then go on a journey of your internal energetic landscape to look at what limiting beliefs are hindering you, and how this plays out in your life.

This type of work can be multi-layered, so we find one issue which we work on clearing, but then that may just be the doorway to something bigger and deeper. The work is worthwhile – this is your chance to finally be free of those blocks holding you back.

Is Kinesiology for you?

  • Are you keeping up with all the demands of your life, including making time to chase your dreams?
  • Are you aligned to your chosen life path?
  • Are you resilient to the challenges that life throws at you?
  • Are you fulfilled and energetically aware?

If any of these areas could use some attention in your life, Kinesiology may be a powerful catalyst to move you forward.

Whether you’re aiming to grow and expand, to build your internal resilience, or simply to live more in alignment with your vision, Kinesiology is a powerful therapy that can support your goals.
